PACE & Criminal Investigations

Understanding the importance of how to conduct and manage a criminal investigation is an essential skill for any enforcement officer. Hours of painstaking work could be lost due to a straightforward procedural error and this can be easily avoided by knowing how to avoid the common pitfalls. "Pace & Criminal Investigations" provides officers with the necessary knowledge and confidence to ensure compliance with appropriate procedure and regulations.

This practical 1 day course aims to enable officers to conduct a criminal investigation ensuring compliance with the appropriate legislation. At the end of the course delegates will be able to describe the requirements of The Police &am; Criminal Evidence Act 1984, identify information which should be contained in a witness statement, conduct a criminal investigation and interview a potential defendant in compliance with the legislation.

This course now contains the amendments made to PACE on the 1st January 2006 by the introduction of the Serious Crime and Police Act 2005.
